Hazel Green Airport (M38) is privately owned and maintained by stockholders of Hazel Green Flyers, Inc. It is located a few miles west of Hazel Green, Alabama, just north of Huntsville, and a few miles south of the Tennessee border. The runway was originally paved as a drag strip. It was first licensed as Chess-King Airpark on April 21, 1966.
We have stockholders meeting once per year, and the Board of Directors meets more often. A few years ago, we met in Sam’s hangar since the executive boardroom in our giant office complex is currently under renovation.
The Hazel Green Flyers, INC By-Laws are posted at
The Hazel Green Flyers have a “potluck” dinner on the third Saturday of each month at 5:30 PM at the airport “clubhouse” on the east end of Opp Reynolds Road. We hope to encourage additional participation as the flying season comes into full swing. Please check our calendar monthly.
